COACCH (CO-designing the Assessment of Climate CHange costs)

EU Horizon 2020 research project, FONDAZIONE CMCC, 2020

“COACCH (CO-designing the Assessment of Climate CHange costs) is an innovative research project that gathers leading experts on climate change sciences from 14 European research institutions.

COACCH aims to advance knowledge regarding climate change impacts and policy that can be used directly by stakeholder communities.”

My involvement

COACCH is a large project; my contribution was in identifying a socio-economic tipping point regarding security of electricity supply in an uncertain future under climate change. Specifically, we examine how future drought hazard may increase in the future, and what the possible consequences could be regarding electricity transmission, inspired by recent events in the US and Australia where wildfires led to extensive electricity blackouts.
